No, this is not Jessica Rabbit (though she may want to consider that as a Halloween costume this year!). This stunner is Miss G and she came by for a shoot and she slayed the grunge goddess look with ease. Between her hair color, radiant confidence and ability to create magic with her eyes, we made some stellar images. I have known Miss G for a few years and have seen her progress as an artist (she also is a photographer!) and work towards becoming a self-assured woman. We rocked 2 looks for this session: one more seductive and sultry and the second, a throwback to the 90s! She did amazing with both and we had a ton of fun with the session. Sessions like this prove that you don’t have to go buy traditional lingerie to make epic, gorgeous images! In fact, it’s more fun to take items that are less common in boudoir and make them look hot af. The makeup and hair was done by none other than my talented teammate Nicole Velasquez!
(All the hair in the photos done by Miss Kelly O. and the makeup by Lilli Csuk & Aileen Audette)
Wow, can you believe that 2015 is amost over? That is ridiculously crazy in my mind….it seemed to zip by in the blink of an eye (like life usually does) and of course it brought with it highs, lows, and everything in between. Now, I have the personality that is always looking forward, thinking forward, and moving forward, so I never dwell too long in one place (this is a mixed blessing) so I can tell you that while I reflect up on the past year, my mind is already racing with the kick assery that will occur in 2016 and I am hoping that you all will be a part of it with me. I wanted to lay out some of the changes that are happening at Teri Hofford Photography so you have an idea of what kind of awesomeness is in store for you. Are you ready for this crazy ride?? I am!!
1. A Sexier Experience
It is no surprise that my work has been getting moodier, sexier, and emotional and I am not ashamed to say that I am okay with this. I knew back in June that I was not cut out for cookie cutter, pretty photos and that women (and men!) were needing me to capture more for them than just their beautiful smiles. While I introduced this new version of shooting as RAW sessions, it was pretty quickly noticeable that the entire session became a RAW session. Previously, my boudoir work focused on the outfits and sets, now I just want to get you naked (or close to it!!) and focus on you as the sensual and fearless human you are. I believe that there is power in nudity and stripping down to the most vulnerable and some people may disagree, but that is their opinion and I respect that. But for me, I want to showcase you in all your awesomeness and empower you both personally and sexually!!
2. Change in pricing structure.
If you head to my website under the investment tab you will see that instead of offering a sole a la carte option, you now have the ability to choose a collection (all the bells and whistles) OR customize your own session from the new a la carte menu! I had sent out a survey and over 80% of people wanted collections, so here ya go! In addition to that, I will be offering themed promos 2 days out of every month for those that want to give boudoir a try or just want a pick me up!!
3. The Boudy Bank Account!!
The Boudy Bank Account was my answer to the women who wanted a premium luxury experience but could not afford the purchase in one shot. The BBA allows you to pre-pay for your collection, session and products so that way when you come in for your session you have nothing to stress about! It’s all taken care! For more information on how this works, head over here!
4. Picture Me Perfect
While this program is still in the beginning stages of being ready for the public, I am hoping to release this no later than March 2016. The Picture Me Perfect program is designed to help you overcome body image issues and involves coaching, creativity, photography, and one on one time to get you back to loving yourself for the stellar human you are!! Essentially this program is designed to work with you over the course of 4-6 weeks (possibly longer) to help undo XX years of negative self talk and experience. I have a few people lined up for the pilot program, so if all goes well, this will be available to you in March! I am also wanting to incorporate a program similar to this but for tweens and teens to PREVENT poor body image and help set them on the right track.
5. Boudy Babe’s VIP Group
I have already started creating my Boudy Babe VIP group on facebook and this is both a secret and awesome group that will give you the sisterhood of the boudybabes. You can freely ask questions, answer questions, and of course, be privy to some sweet giveaways and prizes. As well, VIP Boudy Babes are first in line for casting calls, which is an awesome incentive! This VIP group is for both current Boudybabes and wannabe boudy babes, so if you know of some kick ass women that are toying with the idea of a boudoir shoot, invite them in!! Click on the above link to get into it!
6. Boudy Babe of the Month
Every month I am going to change up the profile picture on the Teri Hofford Photography Facebook page to showcase a boudy babe of the month. During your session I will have you check off a release form that lets me know that you would love to be considered for Boudy Babe of the Month, but if you would prefer to keep your session private, that is totally fine as well!!
7. The Boudy Babe Status wall
If you have been to my studio or know me in any capacity, you will know that I have a penchant for the Polaroid. Well, my aim is to fill my wall with a shot from each boudy babe that enters my studio and leaves empowered and feeling amazing. Everytime I look at these images, it fills my heart with joy to know that so many of these women are on their way to treating themselves a little bit nicer and it reminds me of why I do what I do!
8. New products!!!
It is no lie that the exchange rate has been a killer for the Canadian small business that outsources their products, so I have done my due diligence and will be ordering from an amazing company within Canada who provides stellar service and perhaps will be in talks to create some thp inspired album covers! I will have luxury high end samples at the studio in the New Year for you to view. In addition, I am also removing certain items from the menu, mostly because they are not conducive with my brand. I will no longer be offering the Peepshow or Folio boxes (unless promotional), but rather have implemented the Strip Tease and Polaroid options.
9. Tub Talks
For the new year I am hoping to keep the Tub Talk train going (if you have no idea what I am talking about, head over to my youtube page) and I want to get even more people in the studio!! I want to hear about your stories!! I want YOU to motivate and inspire people. Think of tub talks like Humans of New York, but on video….and in a tub.
10. More Balance
If you have sent me emails after 11pm, then you will know that I don’t set limits and I will answer as soon as I can regardless of time. While I love each and every inquiry I get, I also need to have some non-screen time to be with my family and my lova. Like many people, I am drawn to the blinking indicator on my phone and NEED to answer it right away. I will have set office hours (pretty much) and I will (do my best to) stick to them. Everyone knows that my business IS my baby, but I still need to make time for the husby. I also need to get my health under control because apparently sitting for 8+ hours is unhealthy for you (WHAT???!!!) so I will be taking time to work on food prep, workouts, and the like. So, if I do not respond ASAP it is not because I don’t love you and want to meet you, it just means that I will get back to you within 24-48 hours!
So, it looks like I have quite the upcoming year on my hands and I cannot wait for you to be a part of it! But now, let’s reflect on the cool things that we accomplished in 2015 and scroll down to checkout the BTS video from our New Year’s Eve Shoot:
I received an email from the beautiful Katka and though it was slightly difficult to decipher due to the language barrier, we managed to arrange a meeting. Katka moved here from Czech Republic to be with her fiancee and back home in addition to being a leggy, redheaded model, she was also a fashion designer. Immediately when she popped into the studio I was overtaken with her grace, beauty, and kick ass fashion sense. So, we fumbled our way through a conversation that led to us setting up a time for a photo shoot and I got across that I LOOOOOOOOOOVE shooting bodysuits! Katka never disappointed when she showed up with a gorgeous handmade, white lace bodysuit! Despite our difficult conversations, I definitely know that sexy is universal and we were able to create some epic art! You will be seeing quite a lot of her on the blog as we try to get together to shoot, practice English, and photograph her gorgeous creations!
Last week, the ultra sexy Miss C. popped into the studio for a boudy babe shoot and she blew me away. It was our one year anniversary from the last time we shot, so it was awesome to shoot again and see how far we have come. You can check out her past session here. This time, the epic Nicole Velasquez did the gorgeous makeup for the shoot and the beautiful rose, gold of Miss C.’s hair matched perfectly! I had a blast adorning her with pieces from the studio (so yes, they are available for you to wear during your own boudy babe session!) and I cannot get over the gloriousness of her curves! Enjoy the images below, of this stunning beauty and equally gorgeous soul.
Sometimes, you just have to have a little fun in the studio (actually…I always have fun in the studio) but SOMETIMES, you need creative projects that just fulfill your soul!! I have had this tropical shoot in my head for about a year and though summer is over, I wanted to give a little ode to the awesomeness of the tropics! Therefore, I introduce to you, TROPICAL STORM! A series of photos that make me think of all things lovely about the hot, hot summer!
It’s no secret that I love collaborating with other epic humans, so I was pleased once again to work with the amazing Miss Kelly, Miss Amanda, and Miss Lilli to produce this awesome sparkly, glittery editorial…in the tub, of course. We wanted to do something slightly over the top for this session due to the extreme color of Amanda’s epic hair, so we went Lady Gaga-inspired, found a bottle of Gin, and threw caution to the wind! I told Lilli to go nuts with her glitter products and the outcome was so much fun! Despite the amount of vacuuming I had to do after the shoot, it was totally worth it. FYI, there are nipples, so if that freaks you out…cover your mirror at home when changing, avoid shirtless men, and above all else, do not, I repeat, DO NOT look at these awesome images below!
Miss Ivy has graced my blog in the past when we did an outdoor session, but I knew that she was jet-setting off to Cali/Florida to pursue her acting career so I wouldn’t get to shoot with her for awhile. We had talked about doing this session in her basement which was full of ’70s paraphernalia, but the circumstances didn’t work out so we created the set in the studio! Usually I love the bright natural light that floods into the studio, however, for this particular inspiration I was looking for the dark, dingy mood of a basement so I decided to shoot this in 2 ways. First, I wanted to recreate high key magazine lighting similar to Terry Richardson’s signature work where there is literally nothing but the model and a white wall or backdrop. While many photographers consider this type of lighting to be lacking technically, I actually found it difficult to get just the right amount of brightness and shadow. (This is why it is important to play, fellow creatives, so you learn what works and how!!) Anyhow, I think we did pretty well at creating some awesome images similar to those found in magazines like C-Heads or Nylon. The second set we went with was that of the 70s bedroom: records, record player, lounging around, and a sweet satin bedspread. Lastly, we did a few beauty shots and then threw Ivy into the window to grab some beautiful backlit shots, but again this time I used my studio lighting to give me a bit more oomph and holy crap, I loved the results! Take a look below for the images and let me know what you think? Want to get your own magazine styled shoot? Hit me up with an email and let’s get working on it!
